A vital renovation in the heart of Myrtle Beach’s new Arts and Innovation District. An ambitious attempt to take 3 historic buildings and combine them into a single Performing Arts Center for the Coastal Carolina University. The 3 historic storefronts were revised to their original 1950’s appearance.

My Role:

Provided architectural support during the final phase of construction documents for the restoration of a historic theater, working under the guidance of senior architects to help deliver a coordinated, preservation‑sensitive set of documents. Assisted with detailed plan, section, and interior architectural drawings that addressed the unique challenges of adapting and restoring an existing historic structure while meeting current building code and accessibility requirements.

Collaborated with project leadership and consulting disciplines to help resolve technical issues related to existing conditions, constructability, and integration of modern building systems within a historic fabric. Contributed to maintaining design intent while respecting preservation standards, supporting the careful balance between historic character, life‑safety upgrades, and contemporary performance needs.
